Faqs: schools
How much does it cost?
When do participating schools sign up?
Team Connect starts to engage with schools in March every year and completes the sign-up process by the end of May.
The season then starts in October and runs through until the following March.
My school has missed the cut off date for this year, but we are interested. What do I do?
Please express your interest for next season by contacting us asap. We’d love to hear from you.
What do participating schools need to do?
While no money is required, we do need a contribution of time. Participating schools identify a lead teacher to liaise with Team Connect. At least one school staff member is required to attend after school training and Saturday games.
Is it necessary for teachers to have cricketing experience?
How does the wider school benefit from the Team Connect program?
Schools participating in the program have found that players become more engaged within school and less socially isolated. Some schools have also seen an increase in school attendance.
For liaison teachers who don’t have cricketing experience, Team Connect will provide the skills to coach, by supporting them to achieve their Community Cricket Coaching accreditation.
If our school gets involved in the program, who will help us and support us?
Team Connect provides full support to all school staff. Our volunteers will support you and the team on game day and at training, as required.
Can we publicise our involvement in the program?
Yes – please do! We love it when schools share our story!
We find that positive testimonials from participating schools encourage other schools to join, so we’re always happy for extra publicity.
We will help you to promote your involvement with Team Connect by providing our logo, photos and an end-of-season summary video for your website.
Can I speak to other schools that have participated in the program?
Absolutely. Please contact us and we will connect you with an experienced Team Connect school that is happy to share their experiences.
