Faqs: volunteers
What kind of volunteer support does Team Connect need?
We couldn’t do what we do at Team Connect without our army of volunteers. We need volunteers to score, umpire, bring morning tea, help out at training and cheer on the team. Click here for more details on each role.
Who can volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer to help – whether or not you are connected to a player – and if you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you. Just click here to get in touch.
I don't have cricket knowledge or experience. Can I volunteer?
Absolutely!
Team Connect is a community engagement program, not a cricketing program, so our primary need is for committed volunteers who are keen to see young people have fun with their friends.
We provide all the training and support you need to be able to perform your volunteer role and pay for any coaching or accreditations you may require.
How much commitment is involved?
The season runs for 15 weeks over the cricket season, between October and March, with a break over Christmas and New Year.
Time commitment varies depending on your role. Some volunteers help at training and others help at games.
How do I attend training and matches as a volunteer?
What are the benefits of volunteering with Team Connect?
Our volunteers tell us they get a lot more out of volunteering with Team Connect than they ever expected they would.
Teamwork, personal development, socialisation and fun: there’s no end to the benefits our volunteers experience.
