Here are answers to some questions you might have. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, let your teacher know.
My school has nominated me for the Team Connect program, what do I do next?
Congratulations! You have an exciting time ahead of you!
Team Connect and your school will take care of all the arrangements involved in getting you set up as a player. All you need to do is complete your registration form and attend your first training session to meet the other team members and get started!
I haven’t played cricket before. Can I still participate in the Team Connect program?
Yes you can. No cricket experience is necessary, in fact, almost all of the players that join Team Connect have never played cricket before.
Our program is all about community, involvement and belonging – it just happens that we do that through sport. The most important thing is that you have fun.
I’m not someone who plays sports. Can I still participate?
Yes! Team Connect is for everyone, regardless of sporting skill or experience.
What do you need from me as a Team Connect player?
We want you to get involved and give it a go. We also ask that you commit to attending training and matches, unless there’s an exceptional reason why you can’t. Being reliable and showing commitment is an important part of teamwork, so we want our Team Connect players to commit to the season and give it their best shot (forgive the pun!).
Will it be expensive to participate in the Team Connect program?
Participation is free. Everything you need, from uniforms to equipment to transport, will be provided, so you do not need to pay anything to participate.
